Hemet and Apple

Day Nine already in Hemet, California, 20- 28 C temperatures ( 80's F) and no clouds.  We are heavily involved in adjusting to an IMac - all new technology, terminology and software.


The trip from Yuma was a brief three hours and we are settled in for the month at Golden Palms RV. . . hot tub time for Marc and Pickle ball has arrived!  A new net has been set up for golf practise (right beside the motorhome - how about that!?!).  Apparently the old net let a few balls fly through to damage a fifth wheel).









Made the PC to Mac plunge while in Tucson after considering the switch for some time & the time was near to replace the laptop for the photo programs and space.  


We ordered the IMac while in Tucson and it was sent to Temecula (just a 20+ min drive from here - the nearest Mac store).  Marc purchased an IPad in Tucson only to find that the newest version was announcing its release in a couple of weeks.   So, it was returned (you have 14 days to return .... they had a lot of returned IPad 2's last week).


For $99 you can have a year of unlimited one-to-one lessons or group sessions which you book on line.   So far, we have had a couple and they are well worth it.  Plus, all your PC info gets transferred over for that price.


But, of course, that is not without a few gliches.   I pulled a 'big' boner .... slipped the teeny card reader into the CD slot (they are both on the side of the monitor right above & below each other ... the computer and monitor are all in one!).  Ooops ... a disc drive replacement.


This week we have three lessons - one of which will be for the photo program which is totally new to me and it has been interesting trying to get photos back & forth from Photoshop to Aperature and into the blog.


So, here we are .   .   . 
.........................not unlike golf (or Alzheimers) - everyday is a different experience!

Mall

Temecula has a lot of shopping, high end stores and a HUGE Imax/theatre.  A lot of young families in the area - the Mac store is probably the busiest business in this promenade - especially a friday night.  Man, makes one feel outta touch when you see the 4-5 year olds make their way around the iPod and iMac like they were born attached to a touch screen.

This same exact field (just a block from the RV Park) where I can let the dogs rip has a totally different look this year.  Sadly, there obviously has been a lack of rain as there is one pond, very few birds this year and people are using the road access to dump garbage.

These two photos were taken last year at the same time.   No foxtails in this field but have seen irrigated fields filled with them.  Last year Kylie decided they were a delicacy & horked down about six or seven - they didn't stay down & luckily didn't cause a blockage.

The Verizon WiFi service in this area sucks!   Super slow and hit and miss as to whether you get on and watching any type of videos just doesn't work.   

Will continue on with tantalizing the brain cells and will get out to do other things soon.  Dogs seem to remember their three favourite haunts with 'grass' again & no cholla cactus & rabbits everywhere.
