A forty five minute drive to Chula Vista Marina in San Diego to put in the Hobie Kayaks and to beat the heat (been over 100 F)
A view of the Marine Group Boat Works.
The tide rips through the area but after the pier, choppy but calmed down.
Marine Works and there are wildlife sanctuaries BUT can not get close enough to shore to experience the wildlife as the area is extremely shallow.
Osprey taking a break
Cycled the bike path to Oceanside from Vista (10 miles each way). Using the road bike after a long rest!
Highway 101 was a major highway between Los Angeles and San Diego and Cafe 101 became famous after WW II. One of the largest Marine Corps Bases in the world is housed here in Oceanside.

Oceanside Pier
Time Shares/foreclosures and large beach front houses along the beachfront.
Been enjoying the area and working around the heat .... it has 'cooled' down to the mid 80s this past few days.
Melba Bishop . . . 8 pickleball courts, baseball diamonds, skateboard park, and tons of shade & fun for the dogs.
Cooler temps & have to admit that people here also have an issue with the heat .... although much, much later than us.
