Back in to life in Cumberland BC

Well, the plan is to keep up with a small version of a blog, for those of you that don't live in coastal BC and want to follow the seasons with us. We will take all of you off our hit list for now and if you're interested, you can always go to http://marcnbev.blogspot.com/ to see what is happening with our time during winter. Most everyone says we need to give our head a shake ... that we should be going elsewhere for the winter to ski (other than little Mt Washington) OR go south ... WAY south to warmer climates. Here we are! We plan to sell our home, our fifthwheel and truck and hit the road for a long period of time ... options are out there!

Back home to the bald eagles and blue herons. We didn't see any white egrets this time around or Blue Herons (they resemble those back home but slightly different). The elk appear different as well (we have Rossevelt Elk). The buffalo are domesticated food stock here so, quite sure that they differ from those we saw in Yellowstone. I know one thing for sure, the deer are much smaller here on the Island than Yellowstone as well as northern British Columbia.

Fall weather just down the street from us, on the start of the mt bike trails. We are in to slippery, wet tree roots and watch out for black bears. We live just seconds from the Old Apple Orchard so bears are a common occurence here.
Kylie is back in to Agility Fun stuff and meeting up with her 'cousins.' There are very few Australian Working Kelpies in Canada and the bulk of them are used for agility and some herding. The breed is used extensively for serious herding in Australia and America on sheep and cattle. Our poor worked Kelpie is sleeping off her time working in agility and playing with her alike cousins.
