October 5, 2009

After a very warm and dry summer, a dry and sunny September, fall is upon us and the apple season is almost done. The bears are busy trying to fill up before hibernation and the pumpkins are ripe and ready early this year. Thanksgiving is next weekend and soon we will be preparing for a time change and darkness will get earlier and earlier ..... so..... we are getting ready to go south!
SOLD THE HOUSE ! ! !
After a couple of years and of late, alot of showings and having to not only be out of the house but clean & tidy, the house has officially sold. Possession ($$$ date) will be Marc's birthday, Oct 29th; how great is that?
Since picking up the new 'suite' and bringing it home we have been busy, slowly and progressively getting rid of stuff. Can't begin to say how much you don't realize the accumulation that goes on when you fill up a four bedroom house and basement then go to have a one weekend garage sale. We've sold almost every piece of furniture (thanks to Craigslist, friends, family & local charities) and are currently loading up the motorhome and a small storage space. We have a 5x10' storage area and managed to save some valuables; custom shelving and coffee table, stereo system, keyboard, photos and some sports stuff. Much as we have enjoyed landscaping the entire yard from front to back (except for landscape ties) which we did over about five years, we are happy to move on. With four terraces, tons of huge stone steps and a waterfall surrounded by local rock, a hernia repair for Marc and loads of dirt and $$$$ in plants, we are happy with our project and hope the new owners will enjoy the yard and location of this home as much as we have for over ten years.

We will move out officially to the motorhome about mid-October to test things out and finalize everything before going south sometime the first of November. Blog will be updated when we move out to Seal Bay Park RV (N. of Courtenay). In the meantime ... more cleaning! yah!
