Tuscon, AZ
An hour and a half from Casa Grande we arrive in SW Tuscon at Desert Trails RV Park. Over 200 sites, backing onto acres of desert cactus, mountains and the Saguaro Nat'l Park. The RV Park is bare bones, a little run down but has amenities such as a mini-golf course, pool, hot tub (that closes at 6 pm (?), and approximately 8 miles to local shopping.

TANQUE VERDE SWAP MEET
The swap meet covers 19 acres of vendors - all tents and outdoors. Every weekend, vendors change and it has the feel of Tijuana Mexico. Mexican music at every turn, amusement rides, garage sale items, to high end items there is something for everyone. The Chapin family owned & operated the swap meet and has been for over 33 years.
| Curve-billed Trasher |
The curve-billed thrasher loves to sit on top of cactus and sing it's varied song, which this one was doing. Adults have bright red eyes (juvenilles are yellow). They build nests frequently in cholla (like this one) and are found to 'argue' with cactus wrens as they both like to hang out in the cactus.

A multi-level
bird apartment
A storm has moved in. It rained off and on for about 2 hours and with high winds, it blew over quickly. Frigid temperatures are coming our way; expected to last about four days we will have -4 c temperatures with wind chills of about -10.
