Record cold & wet April

It's been almost a month since we returned, straight from California, from 23+ c.   Brrrrr - April has been breaking records for coolness, wetness and the snowpack-water-melt levels are a concern as our weather heads for warmer climes!   Strange weather patterns - N. Alberta is going through major fires currently, evacuating over 7,000 people from Slave Lake.  Parts of N. British Columbia are experiencing flooding and evacuations along swollen riverbanks.

There have been a few sunny days & the golf course is beside the airport.  You can see the F18s practising maneuvers, the Snowbirds when they come to town each spring, commercial and private planes, gliders & parachuters.   At times, can be a little distracting for the concentration.

Back to play time for the kelpie cousins and siblings. . . a beautiful walk in the trees alongside the beach, then down to the seaside & when the tide is low, sand, sand, sand and shallow water.  A total fitness regime for all those obstacles in agility.  All six dogs are into agility (Kathy's four will be competing in Regionals this weekend in Vancouver).  Will be looking for some podium finishes!

Birds are busy carrying for young - this eagle taking time out for a bath at the golf course where the couple return every year.   Eagles are a common sight in the Valley but one eagle nest in particular draws worldwide attention each spring - the eagles of Hornby Island (just SE of Comox Valley) that you can watch on webcam as they raise their young.

Back at Seal Bay Park - same spot with our RV backing onto the trails a park with over 350 acres of treed park.   The only concern is a recent sighting of two young cougars in the area.   The next project for the RV park is finalizing the pond and meeting fisheries regulations and application to stock with trout.

annoying remote flying things!!!!

It's enough to put up with the occasional remote boats on the pond & trying to get them without getting wet, but now these!
