Arizona Trails

 Blue skies, some light breezes and temperatures around 25C (70F) make for great biking weather.

The 50 year trail is a fun trail winding the way along the Catalina Mountains (NE of Tucson).   Great scenery, cactus (to keep you balanced & aware) with some technical sections and of course, some climbing.

A quick pitstop in Tombstone on the way back from Bisbee.   Was late Sunday afternoon, windy with dust swirls making their way down the street like tumbleweeds and the gunfights were carrying on.   Quiet on the streets as the shops and actors close down for the day between 4-5:00.

Mules were feeling weary - a big yawn before heading out for one final lap.

This "one man band" was still going strong at the end of the day  . . .   energy plus - think maybe he had too much RED BULL!

The Arizona Trail is an 800+ mile recreation trail from Mexico to Utah that connects mountain ranges, canyons, deserts, forests, wilderness areas, historic sites, trail systems, points of interest, communities, and people.    People will do the entire trail from North to South, usually in spring or fall as the summers are dangerously hot and winter snow pack makes some areas almost impassable.

The Arizona Trail Association has been selected as a finalist for Tucson’s Summit Hut’s Banff Film Festival Grant!  The two winners will be announced at the Banff Film Festival on March 24th.

Last Play time at Fred Enke Golf Course before we leave the Tucson area.

  The roadrunners are out, the desert flowers are starting to bloom and its warm enough you could easily find a coiled snake.

Found an indoor agility place but this is the dogs favorite playground in Tucson.  About a 10 minute drive and rarely anyone around.  All fenced (with gates that open) and several concession stands, picnic tables, great shade from the stage.  Seems to be a very safe place - no residences nearby & the rest of Kennedy Park surrounds this large park.

Tazz is waiting for the Pet Program to get back to business.  She loves watching TV - as long as it has some kind of animals.   If there is agility on - she will not look anywhere else and you don't stand in her view - she dodges around you.  (Maybe she can train herself to do agility!)

Well, travel day tomorrow - our time in Tucson is finished already!   Will drive 4 1/2 hours to Yuma for a two night stay before heading to Hemet, California.
