A
long couple of days en route to Yuba City, California to pick up our fifthwheel. Left Sunday, Aug 10th at 3 AM from Cumberland and drove to Roseburg, California (arriving at 7 PM). No difficulties at the border from Canada. It was a forty minute crawl to get through the line up (a weekend) but otherwise, no problem.

Kylie took it all in stride. The back seat in the truck was pretty well crambed with totes and stuff so she took full advantage of the comforts in front.

The temperature was rising consistently and hit a whopping 104 F in Yuba City at 4:15 pm when we arrived at All Seasons RV. They were great and charged us nothing to keep the trailer there for nine months. They set us up with power to get the air conditioner working and we stayed the night in their parking lot. Took two days for the fridge to cool off and begin freezing in the upper compartment. The air conditioner took about 4 hours. Spent the next day gathering groceries and making sure everything worked, which it did and we drove off towards Grass Valley.

Have spent the past two nights in Grass Valley at DeMartini's RV lot and enjoyed an evening with Van and Ann who we met on our previous travels and they happened to be home for a couple of days. This 'bug' was 'beetling across' the parking lot ..... definitely a super size model and fortunate to not find it in our bathroom sink!

Leaving this temperate climate tomorrow (we've barely been able to keep our fifthwheel below 80 F during the day). Will be heading for the hills tomorrow morning, looking for a little cooler air space (Truckee, Nevada).
