Staying at Cal Expo in NE Sacramento, next to the Harness Racing Track. No lack of lighting at night if you want to walk around the secured, police monitored and security camera'd RV park.
Good location as we are right next to the American River Trail that runs from downtown Sacramento to Folsom (& beyond) for 33 miles. The paved path for cyclists and joggers meanders along the American River and through park after park. Horse riders also enjoy this route with special paths crisscrossing the paved route. 
It's a gorgeous ride to Old Sacramento (only 35 minutes) where you can enjoy many cappuccinos and candy stores along the old boardwalk streets and brick buildings.
A pit stop along the river; this is just one of the huge towers used for city water intake. Have been enjoying the warm days (18 C) and cool nights (4 C). We are feeling quite fortunate that we left Vancouver Island when we did as there are major floods happening and we would be worried about our house with the rains and the strong winds. Sounding like there just might be an epic ski season happening (seems, we just miss those years when it is the year of the BIG snow on the hills). So, let's see -- sun, warmth and golf? or cold, wind and snow? Tuff decision.
