Diamond Valley Golf Course - 35 minute drive from Hemet
Marc joined three guys from Golden Palms RV park that call him a 'kid.' Diamond Valley Golf Course has 6,720 yards of golfing with a course rating of 73.
Ron, setting up for the par 3 over the waterfall and bunker. Hole 12, one of the most challenging, is a 611 yd, par 5 with a 2-acre sand bunker guarding the left side.
Georgous setting with the desert, and snow capped mts
surrounding the Diamond Valley and Domenigoni Valleys.
The Diamond Valley reservoir is the largest earthwork project of the US. This project is a lifeline for S. California in times of drought; holding 260 billion gallons of valuable water - enough to supply water for six months to the over 18 million people of S. California. 200,000 cubic yards of rock and dirt were moved each day by the largest machinery in the world; trucks that weighed 350 tons when loaded with rock/dirt and cost $1.4 million each. Construction began in 1995; three dams were built and water filled the reservoir in 2002.
We plan to bike around this reservoir; there were numerous skeletal remains of long extinct mammals such as the mastadon, interesting wildflowers at certain times of the year and several endangered birds and animals living in an area with 13,500 acres. The area is designated to hiking/biking/equestrian activities.
