Well, we are certainly in the land of Waaaayyyyyy cheaper food than we find at home! Everything; steaks, seafood, cheese, etc. etc. etc. Can not believe we can find navel oranges for 18 cents a pound; tuna steaks (about a lb) for $7.00. On and on! Why do we pay such high prices? Almost double for everything. Some stores, like Von's (aka Safeway) is a still less than home.
Sales everywhere which I find unusual for this time of year. . . Went to JC Penny (for example) and everything was 50 % off and alot of items 15% extra (even without signing up for a card); Kohl's, Target, they all have huge sales. So far the line ups aren't too horrendous but we also don't need to go to those places as we are finished Christmas shopping. The Christmas carols are everywhere (to be expected) and the RV'ers have been decorating! Every day, there is an 'excuse' for a party and food everywhere! A decorating party where the resort supplied snacks; now a craft bizarre; tomorrow is a Santa Clause parade down town ... then an 'after' party. Good thing there is a gym here!!!

Good thing, these socks were done anyway! Tazz just helped them along, because Marc left them laying around.

Did a day trip to Old Temecula ... only a 40 min drive (we found about three other 'towns' withing 10 minutes of Hemet).

Old Temecula used to a a grain and cattle town at the turn of the century; now the old part has been turned in to a western/antique setting with boardwalks and tourist attractions such as candy shops, gift shops, antiques and cafes. The city of Temecula has approx 103,000 people. It is nestled in the San Jacinto Mts and has 3,000 acrea of wine country; championship golf and hot-air ballooning.
