Spent the entire day walking the strip and just watching and looking at everything going on. Walked down one side as far as the Flamingo and back up the other side....three and a half hours and we hardly went inside any of the buildings. By 4:30 pm everything comes to life. The city is beautiful but 'spectacular' once the lights go on! Our feet & legs were more tired than any amount of shopping, cycling, or walking a golf course than we could imagine.
Entertainment abounds; Bette Midler, Mary & Donny Osmond, Terra Fetor, Criss Angel, Wayne Newton (still there!), Garth Brooks, Menopause - the play, Blue Boys, BB King, Christina Augulara , and for New Year Day - the Ultimate Fighting Championships of Martial Arts, etc, etc. Can imagine, trying to make a living here and not spend all you make going to the incredible entertainment!
Foreclosures are an issue in Nevada and there is a huge problem with trying to get the law to break the habit of foreclosure houses being stripped of everything from light fixtures, wiring, bath tubs, kitchen sinks, even dry wall from being taken before the house is up for market. These items are sold on things like Craigslist and investigators set up sting operations and undercover investigations in order to catch the home owners from selling their items before the house is actually finalized as a foreclosure.
