Last day in Butte, Montana

Butte has an amazing array of history .... dating back to 1917 when gold, silver and especially, copper were mined. Over 150 underground mines existed in its hayday. Left today, are amazing brick buildings and 14 gallow (gallus) frames or better known as mine shafts for those that mined underground. Below are the remains of a hillside mined. To the west is the old town Butte (or Uptown, as currently named).
Fairmonts Hot Springs lies only 15 mins NW and the golf course is hilly but empty this time of year. LONG fairways!!!

Above is a great play on words..... the "uptown" as named here has beautiful, historic buildings with arts, theatre and history. There are some sections that totally remind us of 'home' (Cumberland, BC) with a mix a buildings and vehicles that range from 'rustic' (lots of Subarus) to top of the line.
