A couple of hours and we were in West Yellowstone (teetering on the SW border of Montana and NW Wyoming). A buffalo was wandering down the street yesterday (the park entrance is at the edge of town). Diesel prices went up about .40 cents/litre here and they have a 6 or 7% city tax just in this area.
Above is a historical Union Pacific building that hosted huge banquets, holding over 300 guests. The town is adorned with fiberglass, hand painted buffalo, many restaurants, gift shops and a huge Imax theatre. We took in a showing of Lewis & Clarke and a film on Yellowstone history.
