Pocatello has been great to us, with lots to do & temperatures settled down (low to mid 20s .... that 70's for those people watching from the U.S.). Kylie & I had a great view of the southern end of Pocatello (right at our RV site). Small cactus growing at the top of this ridge and recent sightings of mountain lions on this hillside. There are apparently two types of snakes to watch out for - rattlers and bull snakes. Luckily, no sightings.
Almost got a new pet. The squirrels frequent the huge cemetery across the road and of course, visit the RVers. They obviously get fed frequently in the cemetery as they follow you. The Idaho State University is next door to the cemetery and the joggers utilize this quiet space. The golf courses are also the residential choice for squirrels - they know where it's happening!
Beautiful church in the midst of the cemetery. Built in memory of a local governor. Unfortunately, could not look inside. It's adorned with stained glass and an eternal burning chandelier for a business woman who passed away and founded a committee to preserve this cemetery and land. I know, it's a
bit unusual to include a cemetery in a blog but we could not believe how massive this property is and strict rules. Family are not allowed to place any trinkets or memorabilia other than flowers.
Leaving here after a week and heading to Yellowstone .... exciting!
