Sat, Sept 20Left Butte and it's 4200 historic landmark buildings.
Settled at the KOA for a week in Missoula, Montana (a short 2 hr distance from Butte). A very busy, upbeat city (60,000 pop) with the homecoming GRIZZ game (college football) happening the day we arrived. NO PARKING ANYWHERE!

A recent whitewater kayak park built in historic downtown.

Yes, typical young male .... fearless and the merri-go-round is not quite enough adventure, although it
flies. This wooden carousel was built over 5 yrs (completed in 1995) by 100,000 hours of volunteer work (some included help from Calgary, Alberta), all handpainted and with the largest band organ in continuous use in the US.
Have had a few days of rain (Oh No!) and thunder. There is a low precipitation rate here with 13.7" annual mean rainfall. (Let's see ... that's about the amount we get in 24 hours on the coast at times!).
