Last day at Pheasant Run RV in Chowchilla. The golf course is great, Long and very quiet. On our fourth day, we golfed with a local . . . most people play two's and don't connect with other two's. Anyway, met Jeremy today and he has moved from Texas to look after his mother in Chowchilla. Previous job was realestate and loan officer in Texas. . . Dallas. Texas has had an influx of Californians. Maximum price for some of these gorgeous homes on the water, across from the golf course are about $200,000. Foreclosures are advertised everywhere but like Jeremy stated, you don't want those. Most of the time (& from what I've read in local papers) they have been destroyed by the owners, angry at losing their homes and stealing as much as they can get away with, without being caught. The golf course is a host to a variety of wildlife; the blue heron (different than back home - no tuft on the back of the head); snipes (as below); doves, coots and snakes which we didn't see. Our partner today figures he saw a water mocassin when trying to retrieve his ball yesterday.
AND, Marc and I had better get our eyesight checked! This 'monstor' (below) was stalking something and from the back end, we thought it was a racoon or maybe something else! Couldn't tell until we got close, as we couldn't see the head and it was intent on that leaf!!!!!
Leaving tomorrow morning for Corning, Ca.
