Seaside ...
just down the path from our motel/condo.

No one around! At the north end is the mouth of the Necanicum River. Looks like a great spot for paddling (we didn't bring any 'toys' as it was supposed to rain the four days we were here). Oh well - enjoyed the quietness, the beach, walking and the dogs were extremelly happy as they had nothing but beach time and got FIT, unlike us!

Speaking of
unfit. Here we are, at Pig'n Pancake....the name tells you everything. BUT, three years ago we were at Seaside in July and you couldn't get into the restaurants (especially this one) without going through a huge line up. This day, Wed morning ... no lineups and a handful of people inside.

We noticed there are hardly any birds this time of year ... a few seagulls but then, someone was feeding them. Pelicans aren't here yet and someone said they are found in some areas by the thousands.

Left friday morning, took the dogs to the beach one last time and where there were about a hundred people lined all along the beach . . . low tides have brought the clam diggers out (including our neighbours who convinced the two women to go along because you are allowed 15 clams per person, so the more people, the better). Looked to me at 7:00 am that some people were leaving empty handed.
