Have spent a week back in Hemet at Golden Palms RV. The time has gone extremely quick and the weather is somewhat warmer than when we left here Jan 24th. The park has been clearing out by the droves since we arrived . . . all the snowbirds are heading back home, leaving the local park model people and occasional groups swinging by. Also, people from Canada coming back from Mexico, stopping in Hemet en route back home. . . it is tax season!

Above, the Diamond Valley Golf Course just 6.5 miles from Hemet. Marc & I went with a couple we met in the RV Park. First time I have gone out since leaving home in Nov. Hole #12 (not thise one) was indeed a fun one with a 611 yd - par 5 with a 2 acre sand bunker. Yes, spent a bit of time in the beach trying to get to the green.

Well, back at Simpson Park - - - we see the very same Red Diamond Back, on the very same part of the trail, under the very same rock. This time it retreated easily when seeing Marc coming by. We just had to be extremely cautious when going past the rock along the narrow path as it was coiled and can strike about 50% of it's length --- we figured over five feet.

At the very start of our trekk was this snake, making it's way across the path. It was somewhat more spooky and just stopped briefly and carried on without provoking it to move. We think it was a gopher snake of over 3.5 feet in length.

Chinese Bistro is a restauraunt NW of here well worth checking out (about 15 mins). The bistor is in authentic railcars, on tracks and has a huge cantonese menu. For us not being Chinese Food buffs, it was great and a unique place to dine.
